Our Sunday Worship Service

As far as our music goes, you should expect a blend of traditional and contemporary musical styles. Our service officially begins as the praise team leads a mix of contemporary and traditional songs. Each Sunday, our Pastor takes us through a passage in the Bible, and we end with another song. Our worship service typically ends by 11:30am.

Expositional Preaching

We believe in the inspiration of the the Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16), because Scripture is inspired it is inerrant. For this reason, we take seriously the mandate to “Preach the Word” (2 Tim. 4:2) and thus the style of preaching is verse by verse exposition. While we may take an occasional break from verse by verse exposition through an individual book of the Bible, the primary method of preaching is expositional preaching.

What should I wear?

Dress how you feel comfortable. We want to create an environment where you can be comfortable enough to engage with us and encounter God without distraction. At FBC Linden, you’ll find people dress casual, business casual, and others wearing traditional Sunday apparel.

How is FBC Linden different than other churches?

We are a smaller congregation that desires true Christian fellowship. In other words, at FBC Linden we aim to do life together. We welcome all visitors to come and be apart of our family.

We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and so we emphasize this in the preaching and teaching. We do not put a lot of stock in gimmicks and programmatic methods. Rather, we gather as a congregation to do life together and learn about our magnificent Savior the Lord Jesus.

Bible Study

We offer a number of Sunday School classes for all ages and walks of life. All classes start at 9:00am and let out at 9:45am, just in time for you to grab a coffee before service starts at 10:00am. About God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

About Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

A. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.

Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.

B. Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.

C. Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.

D. Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.

About the Bible

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Sunday School

During our Sunday School hour at 9:00, our kids are studying Generations of Grace, a biblically based, unified curriculum for children ages 3 - 12 designed to be used in multiple classrooms for the purpose of edifying teachers, evangelizing children and encouraging families. Generations of Grace is designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture. Weekly we discover how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used men to accomplish His purposes.

Sunday Morning Worship

During our Sunday morning worship service we encourage families to worship together and love to have children in the service with us no matter their age. There is a nursery available for children 4 and under, not as a requirement, but as an option for parents (Currently unavailable). We also offer a “training room” that allows parents to listen to the sermon comfortably while sitting with their younger children.
On Wednesday evenings, children of all ages participate in prayer and bible study together with their families. It is common to have little ones playing near their parents and to hear the youngest ones praying out loud alongside their family in Christ.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

— Deuteronomy 6:4—9
